Teevolution Terra Review

Introduction

The Terra was sent out by Teevolution for me to test and review. Please note that the box I have received is a "testing package box" and does not represent the final packaging design. Additionally, some complementary items included in this package are prototypes. These may differ slightly from the final versions, particularly in aspects such as printing quality and other minor details.

Shape & Size

The Teevolution Terra is an ergonomically designed mouse with dimensions of 124.7 x 68.7 x 42.6 mm. Its front features a moderate outward flare, while the right side curves subtly from top to bottom and the left side remains flat. Most notably, the hump is positioned further back than in many ergonomic mice, offering improved palm support for both claw and palm grips.

This design echoes the classic feel of the Logitech G703 as well as its relatives, the G403 and G603. Although the Pulsar X3 also draws inspiration from the G703, the X3 has a symmetrical height for its main buttons whereas the Terra sticks to the tilted buttons seen on the G703.

Coating & Grip-Tape

The Terra’s coating is impressive, feeling even better than that found on many mid- to high-end gaming mice today. While it may not be as grippy as some models from Zowie, Vaxee, or Endgame Gear, it is still very comfortable to use. It also does not seem to be much affected by changes in humidity and temperature.

For users seeking extra grip, the mouse includes a set of grip-tape for the main buttons and sides. Although these tapes significantly enhance grip, I found the original coating sufficient for my usage.

Build Quality

The build quality of the Terra is great. The sides and top remain firm under pressure, with only a slight flex at the bottom when force is applied but this never affects regular use. Additionally, the mouse does not rattle when shaking or moving it around.

Weight & Feet/Skates

At just 49 grams, the Terra is considerably lighter than the 87-gram G703. While 49 grams isn’t the lightest on the market, it is impressive for a large, ergonomically shaped mouse built without any shell cutouts. The weight distribution is slightly forward yet remains well-balanced overall.

The included skates are very smooth and fast due to a unique honeycomb pattern, not to be confused with standard dot skates. An extra set of 8 PTFE dot skates are also provided.

Buttons & Scroll Wheel

The main buttons feature FE Optical Switches that deliver a mechanical-like tactile feel without the possible issues of double-clicking or debounce. It has deep comfort grooves to help your fingers into a comfortable position, but they do not feel overly aggressive in a way that hinders your fingers from moving around or being placed elsewhere. Both pre- and post-click travel are minimal. There is also no noticeable side wobble on the buttons.

The Terra has very large side buttons, reminiscent of the G703. These also have no noticeable pre- or post-travel, nor do they wobble. The scroll wheel is very smooth, with little force needed to scroll up and down. Actuating the scroll wheel require a moderate amount of force, similar to most other scroll wheels.

Sensor & Performance

The Teevolution Terra use the PAW3950 sensor and capable of an 8K polling rate. Its performance is flawless and aligns with other top-tier gaming mice available in today’s market.

Software & Configuration

If you buy the "8K Included" version, the Terra comes with a dedicated RapidSync Dongle featuring an LCD display. This allows you to quickly view and adjust settings such as battery lift, DPI (up to 42,000), polling rate (up to 8000Hz), LOD (0.7mm, 1mm, or 2mm), motion sync, angle snap, and various profiles. You can also switch the display to show the time and date if you prefer.

In you buy the "8K Ready" version, or prefer customizing the mouse through software, you can instead use their web-hub to change the buttons configuration, adjust DPI, polling rate, sensor settings, set up macros, and updating the firmware.

Conclusion

I truly enjoy using the Teevolution Terra. As someone who started PC gaming with the Logitech G403, I was excited to try the same shape with wireless connectivity, a lighter design, and enhanced performance. It has a very solid build, great coating, and one of the best switches and buttons I've used to far. The LCD display dongle is another great addition, making customization and battery monitoring very easy. The Terra stands out as a great choice, especially for those who are looking for a replacement for the legendary G703.
