Shape & Size
The Attack Shark R6 is a small symmetrical mouse measuring 118x60x38mm. It features a mostly flat front flare and has an inward side curvature. The standout aspect of this shape is the moderate back hump, which significantly increases palm support for claw and palm grips.
Even with my large hands (20.5x10.5cm), I can comfortably claw-grip the mouse. Typically, mice in this size category only allow me to fingertip grip, but the R6 provides enough support for claw as well. For most hand sizes, claw and fingertip grip will be the optimal style. Palm grip will also work well for users with medium to small hands.
The shape is reminiscent of the Endgame OP1, though wider in grip width. A more direct comparison would be to the Pulsar X2 Mini and VXE R1. That said, the Attack Shark R6 remains unique enough to stand out from the competition and offer a compelling option for many users.
Coating & Grip-tape
The Attack Shark R6 features an Ice-feeling coating, which aligns with many premium gaming mice on the market. The coating remains grippy regardless of changes in humidity and temperature and does not easily collect stains, sweat, dirt, or fingerprints, even on the white model.
Additionally, the mouse includes pre-cut grip tapes for the main buttons, sides, and back. While the standard coating is already excellent, the grip tapes further enhance grip and overall value.
Build Quality
The build quality of the Attack Shark R6 is excellent. The shell does not creak or flex, even under significant pressure on the sides or top. There is a very slight flex on the bottom when force is applied, similar to most other mice, but this has no impact on regular use.
Additionally, the mouse does not rattle when shaken.
Weight & Feet/Skates
Weighing in at just 39 grams, the Attack Shark R6 is impressively light. This is particularly remarkable given that the mouse has a solid plastic shell with no cutouts while still maintaining exceptional build quality with zero rattling.
The weight is also perfectly balanced, making it comfortable for long gaming sessions, especially in fast-paced games.
For skates, the Attack Shark R6 features two large PTFE feet and a sensor ring. These skates are smooth out of the box and provide excellent glide. Additionally, the mouse includes an extra set of PTFE skates for future replacements.
Buttons & Scroll Wheel
- Main Buttons: The Omron Optical switches (rated for 100 million clicks) feel tactile and responsive. While they are not quite as tactile as mechanical switches, they are among the best optical switches available. They have no noticeable pre-travel or post-travel and no side wobble or rattling, making them feel high-quality and well-built.
- Side Buttons: The side buttons are also well-executed and very tactile, with only slight post-travel but no pre-travel, wobble, or rattle.
- Scroll Wheel: The scroll wheel uses the F-Switch encoder, offering a smooth scroll force with moderate tactility. It is well-suited for games requiring frequent scroll input, such as bunny hopping in Counter-Strike and Apex Legends.
Sensor & Performance
The Attack Shark R6 is equipped with the PixArt PAW3950 Max sensor and a Nordic 52480 MCU, providing top-tier performance. The mouse supports:
- 42,000 DPI
- 750 IPS tracking speed
- 50G acceleration
- Up to 8000Hz polling rate
From my testing across various polling rates and configurations, the performance is flawless, with no issues in different gaming scenarios.
You can adjust these settings through either downloadable software or their self-developed web driver.
Conclusion
At a price of just $61.5, the Attack Shark R6 offers incredible value for its feature set and quality. By using code ELO, you can get 10% off, reducing the price further.
This mouse delivers an outstanding combination of ergonomics, build quality, and high-end features. The shape accommodates various grip styles, while the solid build and lightweight design make it a top choice for competitive play. The premium coating and included grip tapes enhance usability, and the high-quality buttons and scroll wheel contribute to an exceptional user experience. With the PAW3950 Max sensor, 8000Hz polling rate, and a web-driver for customization, it is a top-tier option for gamers.
I use this mouse frequently due to its comfortable shape, excellent quality, and low weight, and I highly recommend the Attack Shark R6 to anyone looking for a premium gaming mouse, regardless of budget.
