Shape & Size
The Pulsar Susanto-X is a symmetrical, medium-sized mouse measuring 118.7 x 62.3 x 38.6mm. It has flat front-flares and a flat side-curvature. It also has a centered hump-placement. Overall, these features make the mouse very safe. What I mean by that is that it has no aggressive shape-features like a big back hump or a front that flares out a lot.
Personally, I am a big fan of such shapes, as they allow me to grip the mouse more freely. Some mice make me feel like I have to use a certain grip to make the most of it. This is not always a bad thing because many of these shapes work really well for a specific grip-style, but more safe shapes like what the Susanto-X offers allow me to grip the mouse more naturally.
Coating
The coating of the Pulsar Susanto-X feels the same as other newer Pulsar mice. It is grippy and remains consistent, regardless of changes in humidity and temperature. Other companies like Endgame Gear and now Razer still offer an overall more rubberized coating that I prefer, but I would say that Pulsar is right behind and much better than the vast majority of other products.
Build Quality
The Pulsar Susanto-X has an excellent build quality. I am unable to make the mouse flex or creak when I apply pressure to it. The mouse also does not rattle when shaking it.
Weight
The weight of the Susanto-X sits at 50 grams. Compared to a lot of newer mice, this weight sits a bit above the competition. That said, 50 grams is still very lightweight for a solid shelled mouse with excellent build quality. Lower-weight mice often make sacrifices like cutouts in the shell, lower build quality, or very small sizes that only fit fingertip-grip styles. Would I have liked the weight to be lower? Yes. I have not yet used a mouse where I feel that a lower weight makes it more difficult to aim. My only problem with lower weights is, as mentioned, that they often make sacrifices to achieve this. And because the Susanto-X is so well-built and has a comfortable shape, I find the weight of 50 grams to be low enough and quite enjoyable.
Skates
The mouse comes pre-applied with two large white PTFE skates and a ring around the sensor. There is also a set of dot skates included. The skates feel very smooth right out of the box and feel great in terms of glide and consistency.
Buttons & Scroll Wheel
The switches used in the Susanto-X are the Pulsar Optical Switch, and they feel great. While they are not as tactile as most mechanical switches, they are very close and better than a lot of other optical switches. They are also very easy to spam-click. These are, in my opinion, one of, if not the best, switches.
The main buttons also have no noticeable pre- or post-travel and no side-to-side wobble. In combination with the switches used, this makes the buttons extremely good. The side buttons also have no noticeable pre- or post-travel.
The scroll wheel used in the Susanto-X is the Pulsar Blue Encoder. It has a moderate amount of tactility and requires a low force to scroll up and down. Personally, I prefer a bit more tactility even though this comes at the cost of more force required to scroll up and down. Still, I find this scroll wheel to be very well balanced. Most scroll wheels with the same force required to scroll often have noticeably less tactility, so in this regard, the Susanto-X performs much better than the competition.
Sensor & Performance
The Susanto-X uses the Pulsar XS-1 sensor, which is a custom version of the PixArt PAW3950. It is capable of going up to 32,000 DPI and 8000 Hz in polling rate. Like most mice with the PAW3950, or a variant of it, the Pulsar Susanto-X performs flawlessly.
Conclusion
The Pulsar Susanto-X is priced at $129.95. This is another one of Pulsar's newly shaped mice that includes their own switches, scroll wheel encoder, and sensor. Like their other mice, the quality is amazing. Also, the shape is not a refresh of an existing one, which brings something new to the market. The shape is very safe and is going to fit a large variety of hand sizes and grip styles.
Personally, I am a big fan of this mouse. Everything about it performs and feels excellent, and apart from maybe having a lower weight, there is nothing about this mouse that I feel holds it back. Because of this, it is a mouse that I plan to use quite a bit going forward, and it is why I would highly recommend buying it if you think the shape and size fits your preferences.
